| MICRO ALGAE DISKS | |||
Unique, convenient inoculants of micro algae ready to use when you need it. Unialgal, petri-dish cultures of micro algae specially sealed for extended shelf life. It is ideal for all filter feeders including corals, scallops, clams, oysters, sponges and many other invertebrates. It is also the primary food source for culturing live zooplankton. Simply store at normal cool room temperature in a dark area, "Micro Algae Disk" cultures can survive for 6+ months. Enough cells are present on each disk to inoculate 2 liters. Three popular salt water species available. Nanochloropsus can be grown in either salt water or freshwater. Others can tolerate low salinities. Nanochloropsus is considered the most important algae in culturing zooplankton such as rotifers and ciliates. Tetraselmis is normally used to culture Artemia, shrimp etc. When used in conjunction with our "MICRO ALGAE GROW" our "RESTING ROTIFERS" and "ROTI-RICH", and the detailed description in the "PLANKTON CULTURE MANUAL", aquarists can grow all the zooplankton and rotifers they desire. |

| MICRO ALGAE DENSITY MEASURER | |||
Simple device allows you to estimate micro algae cell densities. Based on the Secchi principle. White dot mounted on a calibrated plastic stick is lowered down into a well lighted micro algae culture until the dot disappears. Depth is recorded off the scale and approximate cell density is obtained from chart provided. |
